Day at the Chalet

Irish Fairy Doors
The legend goes that fairy doors are gateways to the world of fairies. They're magical portals that can appear and disappear at random. Only those who believe will be able to find them. This class is open to anyone age 8+ (yes, adults are welcome). Anyone age 7 and under must have an adult helper with them. There are limited spots for this class - it was part of our SOLD OUT summer art classes. Your $25 fee includes all supplies. These doors are painted with acrylics - be sure to dress appropriately.

Harry Potter's Birthday - Three separate seatings
Join us on Tuesday, July 31st to celebrate the birthday of The Boy Who Lived. There will be three seatings available: Noon to 2 pm, 3 pm to 5 pm, and an adult only seating from 6 pm to 9 pm. Lots of projects to choose from. Everyone attending must paint.

Christmas Glass Ornaments in July
It's never too early to start planning for the holidays. Create three one-of-a-kind glass ornaments. You can create the designs show shown, or come up with something of your own. Your $30 fee includes all materials and instruction. Your ornaments will be ready for pick up a week after the class. Bring your (spiked) egg nog and let's create!

Summer Art Class - Week 6 - Asia
Maggie & Ellie's is traveling around the world this summer! Our final stop - Asia! There is so much asian culture in the arts it was hard to pick what to do. We will learn about Chinese New Year, make chinese paper lanterns, learn about Japan's obsession with Anime (and make some cute anime's of our own), the Indian art form of mandala's and finally dyeing fabric (which originated in asian culture). We will make our own version of fabric dying and make tie dye t-shirts! This is a full week of classes where some classes may take more than one day. We are encouraging artists to sign up for the entire week so they don't miss a thing. Our classes are designed for ages 6 to 12. A snack and beverage will be provided daily. Let us know if your child has any food allergies. Please have your child dress appropriately - we will have a lot of messy fun and won't want to ruin any good clothes. Ladies Night Out - Mandala Mug Painting
A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol representing the universe. Come in and create a mug with this amazing pattern. We will guide you step by step to help you create a jaw dropping mug. You will complete both sides of the mug, so if you mess one side up, you've always got the other :) Seriously, as we go step by step and you see the rythm, you will see that it's not very difficult. Summer Art Class - Week 5 - Eastern Europe & Russia
Maggie & Ellie's is traveling around the world this summer! This week we will head over to eastern Europe and Russia. We will learn about artist Leo Kandinsky and make a glass fused bowl inspired by his style. We will learn about the origin of the Olympics and paint a canvas. We will make our version of Faberge eggs (unfortunately no real jewels will be used), create Russia's famous Matryoshka dolls and finally, used mixed media techniques to create a picture of Russian castles. This is a full week of classes where some classes may take more than one day. We are encouraging artists to sign up for the entire week so they don't miss a thing. Our classes are designed for ages 6 to 12. A snack and beverage will be provided daily. Let us know if your child has any food allergies. Board Art "Wine Not" at Wine Down & Sweets Cafe
We're taking the show on the road! Well not very far down the road - help us welcome our new neighbors at Wine Down & Sweets Cafe (a gorgeous wine & bakery cafe) where we will create a fun and glamorous piece of board art called "Wine Not" Your $30 fee includes the board, paint, 3d wine glass, GLITTER, instruction, and best of all, a glass of wine. No artistic experience needed - these boards are easy to design and paint and if you're not into glitter, that's ok, you can make the tamed down version. Get your girlfriends together for a creative night out and make something you will definitely want to display right next to that wine rack you've got! Summer Art Class - Week 4 - Europe
Maggie & Ellie's is traveling around the world this summer! This week will be crossing the Atlantic and traveling through Europe. First stop, Britain - famous for tea drinkers. We'll make our very own tea cup and saucer. Next we'll learn about Irish fairies, and make a door to welcome them. We absolutely have to stop in Paris and we'll learn how to use a silk screen and make a plate with the Eiffel Tower on it - ooh la la! Cuckoo Clocks are huge in Germany and we will make a clock that will tell time (unfortunately no cuckoo - too difficult to make in a day :). Our final stop will be Italy where we will make a glass trivet with a stained glass effect. This is a full week of classes where some classes may take more than one day. We are encouraging artists to sign up for the entire week so they don't miss a thing. Our classes are designed for ages 6 to 12. A snack and beverage will be provided daily. Summer Art Class - Week 3 - The USA
Maggie & Ellie's is traveling around the world this summer! This week we are back in the good old USA. We will learn about the Mardi Gras traditions and make our own mask (for decoration - not to wear), learn about native americans and create Sand Art, make a canvas with inspiration from artist Andy Warhol and finally, create our very own Ohio string art board. We will be using a hammer and nails with the string art project and all children will wear protective eye wear (we will provide) with no exceptions. This is a full week of classes where some classes may take more than one day. We are encouraging artists to sign up for the entire week so they don't miss a thing. There is no class on July 4th.
